The last few weeks have been filled with incidents and downtimes across the largest vendors -- GCP, Cloudflare, Heroku, Clerk and many others.
As a developer, we use many integrations and providers that make it easy for us to build our products out. But what happens when one of them goes down or has impacted service suddenly?
We get customer complains and alerts, and we start debugging and it takes a while of checking to know if a vendor is impacted. We have often wasted lot of time because we didn't expect "that" vendor to go down.
So we built a simple page that continuously polls different status providers to identify if any of them is down.
