Most uptime tools are built for DevOps. StatusBird is built for e-commerce store owners who depend on Stripe, Shopify, Klaviyo, and 70+ other services they don't control. When something goes down, you find out from angry customers, not us. StatusBird monitors every 2 minutes and alerts you via SMS, email, or Slack the moment it happens. $29/mo, 2-minute setup, 7-day free trial.

The inspiration came from a frustrating personal experience. I was running an e-commerce store and my payment processor went down on a busy weekend. I had no idea until a customer complained. By then I'd already lost sales and had no idea how long it had been down.
I looked for a simple tool that would just watch the services I depend on: Stripe, Shopify, shipping carriers, etc., and text or email me the moment something broke. Everything I found was either built for DevOps teams (way too complex) or too generic. Nothing was tailored to store owners who just want peace of mind without a learning curve.
So I built StatusBird: pick your services, add your phone/email, and get alerted immediately when something goes wrong. No dashboards to learn, no engineering background required.
As for the process, I started very scrappy, just trying to prove the core concept worked. The biggest evolution was realizing that simplicity is the product. Every time I was tempted to add complexity, I asked myself: "would a store owner on a busy Saturday actually use this?" That filter shaped almost every decision.
