StepNow is a free, private step counter for iPhone and Apple Watch that makes every number easier to trust. See whether your count is Live, Catching up, or Up to date. Start one focused walk on either device, then pause, resume, or finish from both while steps, time, distance, pace, cadence, and Watch heart rate stay together. Includes goals, history, widgets, and Live Activities—with no account, ads, subscription, or external analytics SDK.

Hi Everyone,
I built StepNow because I kept seeing step totals change without any explanation.
The number looked precise, but I could not tell whether it was live, delayed, or still reconciling data from Motion, Fitness, and Apple Health. StepNow treats that uncertainty as a product problem instead of hiding it.
Every count has a visible state: Live, Catching up, Up to date, Paused, Unavailable, or Error. The latest trusted measurement remains on screen, along with its source and update age.
I also wanted walking sessions to feel like one activity rather than two competing apps. You can start a walk on iPhone or Apple Watch and control the same session from either device. Steps, time, distance, pace, cadence, and Watch heart rate stay together.
StepNow is free and private by design: no account, ads, subscription, or external analytics SDK.
The public TestFlight beta is live. I would especially value feedback on real-world step freshness, Watch continuity, and whether the status language makes the data easier to trust.
Thanks for taking a look — I’ll be here all day answering questions.
