That's just about my attention span so kudos. Now can someone solve the problem of "Is this restaurant busy right now / is it too loud to hear the other person?"
@evankimbrell While there are few new apps trying to solve that problem, it's really hard to build the data. We will try to extract those information when we have more content from the same place.
@evankimbrell True. Foursquare might have the footfall data which can be interpreted to find out if the place is 'busy'.

Streethacker lets you discover great restaurants through 10 second video recommendations posted by popular foodies in your city. The simple interface lets you watch videos of great food experiences to help you decide where to go without having to read long reviews. The videos give you an idea of the food and ambience unlike pictures & text reviews.
@kwdinc This is very interesting. I am just worried about the possible bad impression it could give to others depending on the time of the day or so as well as a good impression. I don't know how restaurant owners might react to it. But hey there is no such thing as bad publicity right?
@zssz Hey Zsombor, I found it hard to navigate the information on Yelp/Foursquare on mobile & I had to go through a lot of information before I decide where I want to go. I was looking for a more intuitive interface to discover new restaurants. We believe videos quickly convey more information like the ambiance, vibe, food etc without having to read reviews/swiping pics.
@anandsukumaran_ agree that the interfaces of Yelp and 4sq can be a bit overwhelming. But the beauty of the 5star system is that it serves as a quick quality filter for browsing users. Assuming you reach a critical mass of users and content, how do you provide users with a quick quality filter so they know which venues to do the "deep dive" into?
@monst3rtruck Good point. We already use Foursquare API for our location data. We can include the Foursquare (or Yelp) ratings under the restaurant details so that you can filter places by ratings.

I actually like this better than images or text reviews. A video gives a far more raw impression, noise levels, etc.
Just want to give a shout out to Streethacker. As an early user it's been fun to use and view. I love sharing and viewing the hot tips. If only we could share the beautiful aroma of these delicious spots...
@becovetbrands Hey Jane! What a surprise. Thanks for the shout out! We're so happy to have you on our platform! :))

Tastemade pioneered the foodie video platform, and then there was Betera which lets you films 8-second video of your dishes / restaurants, although it looks like it's not under active development anymore.
