I'm Nic, and I built Styx to solve a very specific problem.
Every agent lives in its own terminal, on its own branch, in some window you're not looking at. And every tool that promised to fix it wanted me to move into a new editor or a new workspace, one project at a time. I already have an editor. I like it.
Then there's access. The agents worth using need to touch real things: your deploys, your database, your servers. So you either paste a token in and hope, or you sit and watch it. I did both. I didn't love either.
So Styx does three things:
1. Every project and every agent in one window. You can see what's waiting on you, and one keystroke takes you there.
2.It doesn't replace anything. It sits on top of the editor you already use, picks up your recent folders, keybindings and theme, and runs on the Claude and Codex subscriptions you already pay for.
3. It holds your keys, so your agents don't have to. When an agent wants production, it stops and asks. You approve it for a set window of time, with Touch ID for anything live, and every request and approval goes into a log nobody can edit.
A slightly strange fact: most of Styx was built by the agents it now supervises. That's how I found every one of the problems above.
It's on Mac today, Windows is next.
