Learn English from what you already watch and read. Hover a subtitle on YouTube or Netflix, or select text on any web page, and see what it means in your own language, idioms and all. Save the phrase with the sentence it came from. Smart Review brings it back at the right time, as a gap in your own sentence, so it sticks. Then an AI voice coach practices those exact phrases with you out loud, so the words are there when you need them.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Navid.
English isn't my first language, but my life runs in English now: YouTube, Netflix, articles, work. Every day I'd meet a phrase worth keeping, and it was gone before I could practice it. Textbooks didn't help, because they weren't the English I was actually living in.
So I built myself a tool that learns from my day instead. Subturtle started in 2022 as a small personal project called "Learn by subtitle", and I've used it for years. It works for me, so I came back to it to make it great, and today I'm sharing it with my friends and every language learner.
What it does:
Capture: hover a line in YouTube or Netflix captions, or select text on any web page, and see what it means in your language, with idioms kept whole and the pronunciation spelled in your own alphabet.
Keep: save it with the sentence it came from.
Review: Smart Review brings it back at the right time, as a gap in your own sentence.
Speak: an AI voice coach practices those exact phrases with you out loud, like a real English coach. For me this is the part that changed the most.
You practice English (explanations come in 110 languages). The Chrome extension captures phrases, and the web dashboard is where you see everything you've saved, review it, and practice with the coach. It's free to start.
A question for you: what's an English phrase you learned from a show? Reply with the line, and I'll send you its Subturtle card.
