Food recognition can be a bit tricky how accurate is your photo AI when it comes to mixed or culturally diverse dishes?
@nathaniel_cook2 Thanks! Photo recognition can be tricky for mixed or culturally diverse dishes. We’re training our AI on many cuisines and always welcome real meal examples to improve accuracy.
This is useful for anyone looking to cut out hidden sugars. How do you tackle complex meals like those home cooked dishes with a mix of ingredients?
@charlotte_richardson1 Thanks for the question! Yes, complex meals can be a real challenge. In our app, you can simply snap a photo of your plate and the AI will try to recognize the main ingredients and roughly estimate the sugar content based on a typical recipe and portion size.
If you want a more accurate result, you can also say or type what’s in the dish — for example, “homemade casserole with chicken and veggies” — and the calculation will be more precise.
We’re constantly improving this feature and would really appreciate any examples or suggestions on which home-cooked meals matter most to you!
I love the concept. Is there an offline mode available for when I’m traveling or in areas with low signal?
@olivia_johnston1 Thanks for the idea! Right now, an internet connection is needed for recognition, but we’re already exploring how to add offline mode for travel and low-signal areas
How do you ensure the nutritional data from voice inputs is accurate especially when someone uses vague terms like dessert or snack?
@matthew_phillips4 Good question. If a voice input is vague like “dessert” or “snack,” the AI uses average estimates for that type of food. We always recommend adding a bit more detail for better accuracy!
I consider that its a good way to be aware of food. There is so much sugar even in bread! TY for the announcement.

Hmm, that looks interesting. I’ve never really thought about how much sugar I eat. Recently, I’ve come across a few videos talking about how too much sugar is bad for you, and also about keto diets.
