What's great

I build developer tools so I'm always thinking about how AI agents actually reach users, and getting them into Slack or Teams is honestly a pain. Switch makes it simple. You connect your agent through an open protocol and it just shows up as a real member of the channel. It can follow threads, respond to mentions, keep context across conversations. The whole thing is open source so you're not locked into some proprietary thing.

What needs improvement

Would love to see more templates for common setups.

vs Alternatives

I've built custom Slack integrations before and it works fine but there's so much boilerplate for auth, message handling, state management. Switch takes care of all that without taking control away from your actual agent logic. That's a hard balance to get right and they got it right.

What's great

I've been looking for a clean way to get AI agents into the same channels where my team already communicates. Switch does exactly that. Your agent just joins Teams and has full context of what's being discussed. No weird workarounds or copy pasting from one tool to another. The fact that it's open source was a bonus for us since we can see exactly what's going on under the hood.

vs Alternatives

We tried wiring up our own Teams bot but it took way more effort than expected and still didn't feel like a natural part of the conversation. Switch handles all of that out of the box.

Thanks @hareesh_vemasani! Love that you're using it with Teams. The full context thing is exactly what we were going for, agents should feel like they belong in the conversation, not like you're talking to a separate app. Open to any feedback

What's great

The idea of an agent joining a Slack/Discord channel as a named participant that shares the same context and history as the rest of the team is exactly right - most agent tools bolt on a slash command instead of treating the agent like a teammate with memory of the thread. Being open source and self-hostable also matters a lot if you're routing anything sensitive through it. Setup took a few minutes and it worked with Claude Code out of the box, no fighting with auth.

What needs improvement

Docs could use a clearer diagram of how permissions/rules are scoped per room versus per agent - I had to read through a couple of GitHub issues to understand what happens when two agents are in the same channel.

@lamaudruz Good to hear, the permissions/scoping question is probably the thing most teams will hit first since it decides whether they trust putting a second agent in the same channel. Even a short "how two agents in one room see each other" page would go a long way before a full diagram. Will keep an eye on the repo for updates.
