@vincentropy That is good to hear. These people are net new too right? I would agree though, practice doesn't make perfect but it doesn't make you more comfortable and in an interview setting. Comfortability/normalcy is vital. Even more-so in 2020 where virtual interviews are the norm and who knows when an in-person interviews are going to be a "thing" again. It's also very under-estimated HOW different a virtual/video interview is compared to an in-person setting. Completely different and requires a whole new set of skills.

@alex_papageorge That's a great point about virtual interviews being very different. Video chats are still better than a phone call but it's still really easy for information to get lost. But that's the reality for all interviews now. Clear communication (and checking that something you said was understood) is more crucial than ever.

@vincentropy Video also helps with authenticity. You can "fake" a phone call but it's hard to "fake" a video.

@alex_papageorge The initial response from people that have participated has been overwhelmingly positive with several people coming back multiple times. But I do think that candidates in general greatly underestimate how much practice is needed to become good at interviewing and as a result may be initially reluctant to make time to practice. We're trying hard to make the experience engaging and fun, so please share any suggestions!

@olivier2 Thanks Olivier! And thanks for asking :) At this point, Swyg is not meant to be an acronym, it's just Swyg but there is a story behind it. First some pronunciation help: it rhymes with big, as in: Think Big, Think Swyg. ;) One of the key ideas behind Swyg is that candidates should be able to *show* their skills (in an interview) not *tell* (in a CV or resume etc.). So we went with ' Show what you've got' as a working title. But like I said, now it's just a short, hopefully memorable, word. :D What do you find most promising about the tool?

@vincentropy I see. Using the "Show what you've got help" tagline helps me remember the domain name. I've had three jobs interviews and got really nervous in each one and I think swyg can help overcome interview anxiety :)

Session was well designed. Having the questions pre prepped with a crib sheet meant the interviews ran smoothly, and found the feedback was more valuable than practising with a narrow group of friends/family. Would recommend - definitely worth a try given the sessions are free

Fuego - What's Hot?

I did Swyg's Digital Marketing Interview practice session last week and it was one of the most novel and fun experiences I'd had in a long time online. Particularly in a semi-professional context. Even if you're not job hunting at the moment it feels like an interesting way to practise your skills when it comes to interviewing others and sharpens up a lot of general interviewing techniques you should have down. 10/10 recommend doing for the novelty at least!
