@brucekraftjr it's certainly not a new thing. Whether these apps will actually be interesting or boilerplate is the test. Lady Gaga also went this path with her Little Monsters app.

@chrismessina i noticed its not a new thing. i feel like the industry has dabbled, and not taken the artist app route seriously. I feel like they are waiting for a major star to not only have their own app platform, but to come out and describe the app investment cost, and the revenue gained before the rest of the industry starts to follow suit. I remember Lady Gaga's app, but we haven't heard of what kind of revenue is generated by her app.
The Kim Kardashian app was generating $700k daily a few years back, but the industry didn't take that app seriously because they blamed the revenue generated based solely because of her TV show.
I figured that would be more of an incentive
