The Elasticsearch Handbook: Step-by-step solutions to real-world challenges

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m really excited to share the Elasticsearch Handbook with you. (Haven't heard about Elasticsearch yet? It's the most popular DB Search Engine out there.) Why did I create this? As a coder, I learn best from examples. No matter the technology, I first hunt for working examples. I then adapt them to suit my needs. As I gain more experience, I slowly work my way back through the documentation, at times even the source code, to gain a solid understanding of why things work the way they do. Elasticsearch feels difficult to get grasp of at the beginning. I, like many others, had to take the hard road. As soon as I got some decent real-world experience, I started answering questions on StackOverflow. (The uptick in free time during quarantine may or may not have contributed to that 🙃) I observed that people tend to ask similar questions, mainly due to: • A) how complex the query language is and • B) how simple the examples in the official documentation are! So I started writing a curated collection of guides to showcase what's possible with Elasticsearch through real-world examples. This helped me gain an even deeper understanding of its inner workings, while saving me lots of time to answer questions because I had a concise reference to quickly go back to — thus accidentally creating a virtuous circle. Last but not least, writing in Notion is incredibly enjoyable. Now I’m making all these guides available to help other (potential) Elasticsearch developers save time and leapfrog their learning curve. I've spent 200+ hours working on this Notion handbook, so you don't have to spend time figuring out Elasticsearch all by yourself. Who is this for?
