If you want to find your future customers, discover how you can help them, and build an audience while growing your business, I invite you to become an Embedded Entrepreneur. This book is your practical guide to finding the right audience and building the product they need.
Hello Hunters! 👋
First, a massive shoutout (😉) to @5harath for hunting the book.
I'm Arvid, a software engineer turned entrepreneur turned author. Today, I am launching my second book, The Embedded Entrepreneur!
Being an Embedded Entrepreneur is very straightforward: make your (future) audience the most important thing from day one. Join their existing communities, embed yourself in their tribes, observe and learn about their problems. Build a reputation in their communities and work with your audience to build and amazing product and a successful business.
The book is the most actionable and practical thing I have ever created.
And I didn't do it alone. Over 500 alpha readers added comments and suggestions to my manuscript over many months, making this a truly community-based effort.
This book about audiences was written for, by, and with my own audience. They picked the title, they picked the cover, and they made sure that the contents answered their questions.
In many ways, this book is a follow-up (or rather a zoom-in) of my first book, Zero to Sold. Back then, I talked about all the stages of running a business. In The Embedded Entrepreneur, I focus exclusively on two things: finding the right people to serve, and building a following that serves you.
In The Embedded Entrepreneur, you will learn:
- Audience Discovery: who do you want to serve and empower?
- Audience Exploration: where does your future audience hang out?
- Problem Discovery: which critical problem does your prospective audience have that you can turn into a business?
- Audience-Building: how can you leverage social media to build (with) your audience?
If you want to find your future customers, discover how you can help them, and build an audience while growing your business, I invite you to become an Embedded Entrepreneur.
You can read a Sample Chapter right here.
And here is me on one of those rare trips to the outside world:

@5harath@arvidkahl I own the Zero to sold copy and must say it's awesome. Following your journey on Twitter. Good luck with the launch Arvid!
I already started reading this book and it's good stuff. I've been following Arvid on Twitter for a while and this compilation and development of the ideas he gives us for free on a daily basis (26h a day, huh?) just seemed too good :)
Yes!!! I just bought my copy and I'm already getting a lot of ideas to implement for my business.
@arvidkahl, a question for you—is it easier writing a second book? And if so, did you do anything different from Zero to Sold to The Embedded Entrepreneur
@ramlijohn Glad to hear you're already getting ideas!
It's never easy, but it's always enjoyable. This time, I involved even more people than before, and it really made a difference. The book got as dense and action-focused as possible. Wouldn't have been able to do that without my alpha readers.
I want to agree with this, but I believe that "Idea is a king". We can find many examples of anything, but if you are going anywere to serve the audience you shoud rely on their numerious needs. How to focus on main idea and not to produce everything for everybody? Don't you are trying to catch the wind with this method?
@a_nikitin Avoiding to "catch the wind" is exactly what the book is about. The "idea is king", but only if it can be reliably validated. And you can only validate an idea if you know exactly whom you're serving and what problems they have.
An Embedded Entrepreneur dives into communities to get a feeling for the problems their future audience has. Then they come up with a solution — the idea — and implement it WITH and FOR their audience.
One important distinction is that you don't just try to serve your audience in all kinds of ways. You want to find their most commonly felt and critical problems. Discovering those is easiest when you are observing them in their communities. And that's the kind of embedding I'm talking about.
Let me know if I can answer any other question, or jump into the Sample Chapters and read about my approach to the whole "audience-first" vs "idea-first" debate.
Apologies if this is posted twice, it didn't seem to post yesterday.
@arvidkahl - Bought the book, arrives in Sydney next week. I wondering - would you ever blog about the difference between the launch of this book and your first? Lessons learned, what having far less community support meant for the first book?
Asking because we're about to launch a book :)
Yes! Is finally launched! Another add-on from the Zero To Sold Book. Now we have Embedded Entrepreneur! Love this one on building the right audience. Congratulations on the launch. I've been reading it. 💯 Great book of the year 2021! 👏😃✨
@fajarsiddiq Aww, thanks so much, Fajar! You're always such a friendly and encouraging person. Makes me happy to hear, and I agree with you: building the right audience is key, and it can be done methodically!
@arvidkahl is one of the amazing writers that I know of who delivers more value per buck! His Zero to Sold book itself made an incredible impact on many founders. Now he's back with another one 🔥
One thing I particularly love about this book is the way he wrote it in public involving the community.
If you are anywhere near to community building, you should get it 💯
@5harath You're too kind! And you're also right: the book is very community-centric, because that's ultimately where the answers to all our business questions lie: in the communities where our (potential) customers talk to each other.
