An incredibly poignant and truth seeking writer. His writings are praised so much but this book was everything solid. Questions. Many life questions. The book moved me in many ways. His joinery thru life in church, civil rights, meetings with black leaders of the 60s and vividly depicting poor defeated communities where you see and smell every perpetrator and politician of the time.
