The Landing Page Cookbook is a well executed bird's-eye view of all the elements you can use to craft good landing pages. You will find examples of most of the patterns currently in use all over the web. I've gobbled the book in the last couple of days and it has already proven itself as an idea generator and sort of a checklist for a couple of personal projects of mine.

I wholeheartedly recommend the book to anyone who's currently building (or looking to build) any landing page. Top notch work for real.

Pros:

Easy to use, good categorization & well designed. The book flows easily.

Cons:

Some design kinks (ePub version)

I thought I was getting a book, which looked like a great idea for a party however I only got a PDF Copy. Which is pretty disappointing. Yes, it was probably written there, somewhere in the text, but I was kind of in a hurry and thought this would be great present.

Pros:

Looks like a lot of people like it.

Cons:

It's not really a real book it's a PDF.

At first I wasn't sure if this book could really help me. There's so much advice free online. But none of those blog posts with their 'Top Ten Tips' gives you this comprehensive breakdown of how a page works and what all your options are. Most guru posts push their own template of what an ideal landing page should be. The Landing Page Cookbook is different because it teaches you how to assess and experiment with the different elements for yourself. I like reading books about the science of expertise like Peak by Anders Ericsson. When you want to master a skill like tennis, this science advises you to break your skill down into small parts - like backhand, serve etc. - and create strong 'mental representions' for each mini-skill. You study expert performance, until you've a clear blueprint of what it looks like when an action's performed well. That's how David Oudiette teaches too. We learn about each element that makes up a landing page and study examples where it's been done well. There are a few places where I'd have liked more examples, but overall the book is effective and detailed. When I read landing pages online, I now instinctively use the knowledge from this book to parse what the page is doing and think about how they've handled the options at their disposal. In that sense, the whole internet becomes your list of examples. I'd definitely recommend this book. I read it almost cover to cover in order to get an overview of landing page options. However, you could just as easily dip in to the later section: it lets you see which elements you need for your project. Then you can dip in to read about just those elements you need, and use the info to get stuck into your project from there. I've read some people complaining this is a PDF, but PDF seems like the most appropriate format. I don't know why you'd want a print version of this taking up room in your house: It's something you'll reference while working at your computer. And epub would be too difficult to read on small screens. Negative feedback: there are some glaring typos that need correcting. One paragraph just trails off unfinished. I admire the agile approach to production, and I know what it's like to be busy with the next project. Still, it wouldn't take much to send this to an editor on Upwork and ask them to circle the typos for quick correction. The author could sort this out, in small steps, over a few lunch breaks, using mostly just his phone. Still does the job! Thanks for the useful book.

@davidoudiette okay, well then the 50$ price gumroad was showing is a bit steep. Maybe this high pricing works to communicate high value potential, but personally would have started selling with 50$ normal price and 25$ for PH members for 3 days
