Hey Product Hunt! Built this over the weekend with my wife as a small side quest to a bigger mission we have as co-founders of an education-focused startup studio. We've been going deep into education as we gear up to start a family. Outside of public school, there's been a growing wave around alternative education. Things like AI tools that offer more personalized and accelerated learning, microschools with smaller class sizes, and much more. I'm a comp. sci. dropout and my wife's a Montessori alumni. We're not the only ones who've taken non-traditional paths through education. While doing our research (on Montessori to start), we found that it was impossible to uncover notable alumni who opted out of the public school system. The same names kept coming up and we figured SURELY there were others. Surprisingly, the data is disparate and inaccessible. Even getting ChatGPT to go down a deep research rabbit hole didn't yield too much. So we built The Montessorians. Fully open source (under CC0), goes beyond the usual big names to highlight everyday alumni doing incredible things, open for contributions. Know someone who should be added to the list?
