Thunderduck is a DuckDB-powered data warehouse built for AI agents. Every agent gets its own isolated engine. Join Postgres, BigQuery, Iceberg and S3 files in one SQL query, with no ETL. Every query is priced before it runs. Managed cloud, BYOC or on-prem.

Thunderduck is built on DuckDB. It's the engine inside every isolated query worker we run. It's so fast on a single node that we could skip the distributed-cluster design entirely and give every agent its own engine. Its extensions for Iceberg, Postgres, MySQL and BigQuery are what make one-query federation possible. We wouldn't exist without it.

A small team shipped a full data warehouse (query engine, console, dbt pipelines, MCP server, SDKs, Terraform for AWS and GCP) because Claude Code works like an extra engineer on every task. It's also our first customer in practice: we use Claude to test Thunderduck's MCP server the way our users' agents will.

Brex was one of the easiest parts of starting Thunderduck. Setup took minutes, with no branch visits and no paperwork marathon, so we could focus on building instead of banking. The startup perks also add up quickly: credits and discounts on tools we already use stretched our early budget further.

Thunderduck pipelines are plain dbt projects in your own Git repo. Agents build models on a branch, and you review the pull request before anything reaches production. Building on dbt meant data teams didn't have to learn a new modeling language to use us.

Cloudflare runs our DNS and secures our network edge, and R2 plus Basin are first-class catalogs in Thunderduck. R2 charges nothing for egress, which makes it ideal for data you query in place instead of copying, so it fits our "query where the data lives" approach exactly.
