Mac menu bar app that auto-organizes your screenshots using on-device AI. Take a screenshot with any tool - Tidyshot detects the source app, extracts text via OCR, and makes everything searchable

Hey everyone! I'm Alex, solo indie dev behind Tidyshot.
I take 20-30 screenshots a day. My Desktop was a graveyard of "Screenshot 2026-03-12 at 14.32.05.png" files. I tried organizing them manually, but failed.
Existing tools either capture screenshots (CleanShot, Shottr - love them both) or rename them using cloud AI that needs API keys. Nothing handled the simple post-capture workflow: organize, find, copy.
So I built Tidyshot.
It sits in your menu bar, watches your screenshot folder, and does three things:
- Auto-detects which app you screenshotted (Chrome, Figma, Terminal, etc.)
- Extracts text from the screenshot using on-device OCR
- Lets you copy any screenshot to clipboard with one click
Everything runs locally on your Mac using Apple's Vision framework. No cloud, no API keys, no account needed.
Free with 20 quick actions/day, $5.99 one-time for unlimited. No subscription.
Built with Swift/SwiftUI in about 6 weeks. Would love your feedback - especially on what info you'd want to see on the screenshot grid.
Specially for PH, here is a promo-code: HUNTTIDY
Mokkit
Hey Alex, I'm also launching Mokkit in the screenshot space, your product caught my eye cause I generate hundreds of images and it's messy!
Wish you a good launch and upvoted you
@ugo_builds Thank you Ugo! Checked Mokkit, going to try it 100%!
