Paste a job description. Toby researches the company, maps every round and interviews you on a Meet, Teams or Zoom-style call. Then you get a scored debrief and a stronger version of each answer, built only from what you said. Real mode runs it straight through; Coach mode gives a note and a retry. No subscription: 50p a minute on a call. First 5 minutes free.

Cartesia SonicSonic is the fastest human-like voice API.
5.0 (24 reviews)
The interviewer’s voice is the product. If it sounds robotic or lags before speaking, nobody takes the practice seriously. Cartesia’s Sonic models start speaking almost instantly and sound natural enough that people forget they’re talking to an AI, with good British voices for UK candidates. ElevenLabs sounded great too, but Cartesia gave me the same quality with lower latency and a cost that works at consumer pricing.

LiveKitThe open source platform for real-time communication
5.0 (39 reviews)
Toby is a voice interviewer, so the conversation has to feel live: no awkward gaps, and you can cut in mid-question like you would with a real person. LiveKit’s Agents framework handles the hard parts (WebRTC transport, turn detection, interruptions) out of the box, and it’s open source, so I’m not locked into one STT, LLM or TTS vendor. I could swap models without rebuilding the pipeline. As a solo builder shipping my first product, that let me spend my time on the interview experience instead of audio plumbing.

DeepgramVoice AI platform for developers.
4.9 (82 reviews)
If Toby mishears your answer, the feedback is worthless, and nothing breaks the illusion faster. Deepgram’s streaming transcription is fast enough that Toby responds as soon as you stop talking, and it held up across accents and nervous, half-finished sentences, which is how real candidates speak under pressure. Keyterm prompting also helps with company names and role-specific jargon. Plus the price per minute makes a £5 session viable.
