Is there a submission deadline for the Plow Agents Hackathon, and does the project need to be brand new or can something already in progress count?
Yes: building runs Sept 9-16, then Sept 16-22 is about getting real users, and Sept 22 1pm PT is the leaderboard snapshot that decides the top 10. It does not have to be built from scratch during the hackathon — something already in progress counts too.

Short version: build an agent that solves one real chore end-to-end using at least one open-source Plow tool (Plow Latch or hermes-plow-chat), publish it on the AI Worth Using Agent Index, and get real users to install and use it — ranked by usage, not upvotes. Building runs Sept 9–16, usage counts through Sept 22, then the top 10 are reviewed by hand for prizes (1st Mac Studio, 2nd Mac Mini).

How do I submit my agent to the Agent Index?
Build on the Plow agent template, then register once: curl the standalone client from github.com/plow-pbc/agent-index-client and run it with --register (see plow-pbc/plow-hermes-agent for the base image and plow-pbc/life-assistant-hermes-agent for a worked example). That's it -- no PR, no form, no Docker repo, and your agent shows up on the Index.
