We sincerely appreciate Uncovered and the team. Having a centralized location for case-specific timelines and sources makes it so much easier to stay updated on cases and providing that information to the public as a whole. With cold cases that are 15+ years, most media articles have been archived and/or aren't easily accessible to someone just generally browsing. When you're asking the public to recall details from decades ago, it's not surprising they don't always remember exactly what occurred, if they remember at all. A database like Uncovered has the potential to be instrumental in solving cold cases when it puts that cold case information together in one place that's easily accessible. Great work guys, and we thank you!
As a fan of true crime podcasts and also a person who’s always eager to contribute and help people around me, I’m absolutely thrilled to see a product like this. Keep it up, team!

Congratulations! I'm not really one to comment on these things but I just wanted to say that this tool is an inspiration so kudos to you and your team. I would like to know from an international perspective, how can other countries use this tool e.g. I am from New Zealand and we have gone from a country that barely saw a murder on the news once or twice a year, to almost daily occurrences. The number of cold cases is also rising and hugely frustrating to witness. I'm hopeful that we will also be able to use a Citizen Detective approach to our local cases.

What types of training or resources does Uncovered offer to its members?
@kg_p Thanks for the question. We offer a variety of resources to our members. They range in topics from Digital Literacy (how to evaluate sources and how to do effective web searches) to our proprietary Digital Case File that allows users to organize and visualize their case. We also partner with experts to deliver topics that we know our users are interested in. For example, last year, we hosted a public records BootCamp with the NFOIC that taught our members what information they are entitled to from law enforcement and how to file FOIA requests effectively. We've also had world experts talk on subjects like Forensic Genetic Genealogy.
Thanks, @timhickle! It blew my mind that there wasn't already a central database of all these cases. When people hear about a case, they immediately go to google and search. Now, Uncovered is the result they see and we're getting the whole community to see what they can contribute.
