Over the past few months, we ve been talking to a lot of you using Velo.
Real conversations, and people trying it out, sending clips, pointing things out.
And almost everyone said some version of the same thing: It sounds like me but something feels missing.
At first, we thought it was about accuracy. Maybe the voice wasn t close enough. But the more we listened, the clearer it became - that wasn t the issue.
The issue was how it felt. The tone stays a bit too samey. The emphasis doesn t always land where you expect it to. And the little natural shifts that make your voice yours just aren t fully there yet. It sounds right, but it doesn t feel alive.
So we went back and started reworking how we think about voice cloning at Velo. Not just matching how you sound, but capturing how you express. The way your voice changes when you re explaining something, when you re just talking casually, or when you actually care about what you re saying.
That s what we re building now. The next version of Velo is focused on higher fidelity voice cloning. More nuance. Better pacing. More natural expression.
Something that doesn t feel like a generated voice reading your script, but closer to you actually speaking.
We re still building it, but it s coming together fast. We re planning to ship this soon.
If you ve used Velo before, we d love to know - what do you think about Velo's voice cloning or other workflows? What would make it feel right?
We re listening.
Huge congratulations on the launch 🚀
I gave Velo a quick try and was genuinely impressed, within minutes I had a polished video with smooth animations and a really solid overall result. As someone who’s not experienced in video editing, I found the process intuitive and easy to follow, which is a big win.
One thing I found a bit unclear: is there a reason we can’t add narration to a video that doesn’t already have audio? Since we can provide a script, it feels like enabling voiceover generation from scratch would be a natural extension and a valuable addition.
I’ll keep exploring and come back with more detailed feedback soon, excited to see how this evolves!
Velo
@matheusdsantosr_dev This is great feedback, we're actually launching that in our next drop where you can bring your own script. Excited for you to try that out too.
Nas.io
Help me understand, does it automatically clone your voice with AI or it adds an AI voice to it?
Velo
@nuseir_yassin1 We have both of them, but we have that cloning features available in our Ultra Plan. I would love to give you a free trial, if you could give me your email ID or shoot me a note at sourav@usevelo.ai
Velo
@nuseir_yassin1 Hey Nuseir, would love for you to try the product out
GrowMeOrganic
For content creators, the pricing might be too steep if they get only 3 to 30 minutes of avatar videos. Will there be any creator-friendly pricing tier introduced soon?
Velo
@iamanantgupta Yes, we will be relooking at our pricing, incase you want to try it out shoot us a DM and we can get you a discount too!
does it actually understand what matters in the recording, or is it mostly trim + zoom? curious how it handles long demos
Velo
@mykola_kondratiuk Yes the whole recording is treated as an intent capture, almost always the length of your recording and the output will be entirely different but we capture all the intent and then do the auto edits. Would love to have you try it out.
Intent capture framing makes sense. The variable output based on length is interesting - sounds like longer recordings compound the context, not just extend it.
Velo
@mykola_kondratiuk Yuppp
ha yeah. the async angle is underrated - half the sync meeting culture is just habit.
tried screen recording tools before but the editing part always killed the workflow. does velo handle zoom/pan automatically or do you have to set that up manually? asking becuase thats the bit that takes forever
Velo
@lumm All of it is automatic, you should try it out
Velo
@hamza_afzal_butt Thanks Hamza,
Most tools help you edit videos, Velo actually creates the video for you from a raw recording.
You do not need to write a script, worry about speech, or do retakes, it handles that part
Try it out on www.usevelo.ai
Velo
@hamza_afzal_butt Yeah works well for that
People are using it for sharing guides, tutorials, product updates, demos, even walkthroughs from a URL.
Anything where you need to explain or show something via video message
Congrats. Looks neat. Does it allows me to host the videos like Loom does or I need to export the video and host at my end?
Velo
@ragsyme We allow hosting too without any watermarks, you get a URL you can share.
