All 40+ tools really run fully offline with no server calls, or do the AI features (like OCR) need to hit an API to actually work?
@sevilmoolkghgs Yes, the actual processing happens on your own device, not on our servers. When you use OCR or remove a background, everything is processed directly inside your browser. Your photo or PDF is never uploaded, so there’s nothing for us to store, access, or lose. No AI service is involved behind the scenes — no OpenAI, no third-party image API, and no hidden uploads.
One small thing to be transparent about: the first time you open a heavier tool, your browser needs to download its processing engine (usually a few MB). It’s cached locally afterward, so you need an internet connection to load the tool initially, but your file itself doesn’t need to leave your device for processing.
A few tools are online by nature, and we’ll be upfront about that. The speed test, news reader, and wallpaper gallery need to fetch data from the internet. File sharing also needs a quick connection handshake to find the other person, but the file itself is transferred directly between the two devices.
