Hey everyone, I'm the maker of Wakatta!
I've been learning Japanese for about a year (roughly N5 level). I follow Japanese accounts on Threads and try to read their posts as daily practice. Whenever I hit a sentence I didn't understand, I'd paste it into ChatGPT and ask for a breakdown. Sometimes it worked great. Other times it'd skip the furigana, or give me a vague grammar explanation, or format everything differently. And even when it got it right, it was just a wall of text. Hard to scan, hard to learn from.
I wanted something consistent. Same detailed breakdown every time: translation, furigana, word-by-word meanings in context, grammar explanations with JLPT levels. So I built Wakatta! to guarantee the same format and depth for every sentence.
