We started using Jira internally, but once we outgrew the free tier, the pricing quickly became hard to justify for a small team. At $15 per user, we were suddenly looking at $150/month for features we barely used.
The reality was simple: we did not need most of Jira’s complexity.
So we built our own tool, WannaTrack. It focuses only on what we actually needed: a clean agile board, lightweight workflows, and a straightforward way to manage development without the overhead.
We also built a migration tool to import our Jira tickets, so switching did not disrupt our workflow. Since then, it has become part of our daily development process.
Today, we are opening WannaTrack to everyone who wants a simpler and more affordable way to manage projects without the complexity or cost of traditional tools.
It is fully usable, feature complete, and built from real day-to-day engineering needs rather than feature bloat.

How does the Jira import handle custom workflows and field configurations, or does it only bring over the standard stuff?

@adahiber WannaTrack doesn't support custom workflows however if this is a feature that would bring you onboard then we'd be happy to add it to our feature roadmap. We want to enable you with all the power you need for an effective workflow however we would want to do it in a way that remains simple to use. Happy for our customers to be part of the development process.

how does the jira import handle custom fields and workflows, or does it basically flatten everything into defaults?

@turanvatan83pf WannaTrack also has custom fields and they work the same as Jira. They'll get imported pretty perfectly and in the project settings, you can customize them and map statuses to board columns as needed.
In terms of workflows, we don't bring that across. It's one of the features we don't yet support. WannaTrack provides an opinionated workflow however, if this is a feature that will get you onboard and others then we'd be happy to add that into our feature set.

Took a quick look by importing a small Jira board and the migration was honestly painless, everything lined up in a few minutes. The board view feels clean without a million buttons I never touch.
