@michaelv_1322 Hi Michael, can you please send me a screenshot: frank@triggerfox.com. Also, what browser are you using? (Desktop or Mobile?) thank you.
Hey Everyone!
The folks over at Triggerfox are launching a new fun site called “Who Knows Who”, that answers the question: Are you connected to someone famous? The inspiration for this idea came from an social experiment conducted back in 1967 by phycologist Stanley Milgram who proved that the expression “it’s a small world” is not just a cliché and that every person in the world is connected by fewer than 6 steps. This theory was also made famous by the early internet game, “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” – the game where every actor in Hollywood can be linked to Bacon via movie performances.
The launch of this site also serves as a precursor to the business version of ‘Who Knows Who’ that we are launching later this summer: ‘WKW for Business’ will provide you with the best path to anyone you want to get an introduction to (prospect, investor, employer, etc.)
@drewmeyers I'm not sure if it's about really meeting someone famous, but more about the curiosity factor of knowing how many degrees of separation you are from them. It just demonstrates how much of a "small world" we live in. That's just my 2 cents.
@frankcrm Yea, I get the curiosity factor. But really, is there something actionable? So, I know I'm 3 degrees from person X that I am for some reason obsessed with (or don't even know, but is deemed "famous" by some website / app)... so what? What do I do then?
@drewmeyers I agree with you that there isn't an "action" item on the celebrity information, other than some fun bragging rights with friends. We created this site just to open people's mind to the concept that everyone in the world is pretty much separated by six degrees or less. We are launching a B2B version shortly that will demonstrate how this technology can be used to get you a warm intro to prospects, investors and employers.
Report
Very interesting but can't tell if it's legit considering it won't tell you who actually knows who.
@macmebenny Hey Zach, we can't reveal the identity of the people between you and the celebrity for privacy reasons, but if you sign up for the business version of WKW (bottom of the MyProfile page), you will see that we do show the people between you and the target person. The business version is perfect for finding warm connections to prospects, investors and employers - not intended for Hollywood actors :)
