The speaker looks great, I'm definitely excited to pick one up if it holds its promises!
On a different note though, are you assuming only guys will buy this? I showed the ad to some female friends and they were all thoroughly weirded out by how oversexualized it is. If I imagine a half naked guy selling me the speaker, I would be weirded out too.

Here's the answer I made above to people who had the same reaction that your female friends:
The video is about how music impacts our life and emotions. We wanted to follow that woman through her day, morning to night, from a "blue mood" to a "red mood", music (controlled by her voice) being the catalyst of her emotions. The underwear was an artistic choice from the director to show that she just got out of bed. We tried to do something creative & emotional, we never thought to use sexuality for marketing purpose. We're sorry if it raised confusion.

Interested to know where the voice recognition happens - is it reliant on Whyd's servers, or does it all occur locally?

The design looks great, very sleek and it blends well with other pieces of furniture and styles in a room. That's something I always disliked in the Amazon Echo. I use the Echo on a daily basis, but it's the one piece in my living room that doesn't match the design of anything else (I've thought about modding it, like spraying it with a matte white color, so at least it doesn't look like a ritual monolith in the middle of my room).
I'm curious if you're thinking of other ways to differentiate yourselves from the Echo. From what I can see, design and the quality of the speaker are two of them. Are there any other features you'd consider killer features that would make an someone choose your product over the Echo?

Whyd makes a voice-controlled speaker that's beautifully designed and has powerful sound. You can play music by talking directly to the speaker. Say “Play my morning mix” or “Play Drake”. You don’t need your phone. I've heard the sound that comes out of it and it sounds really good.

What a story behind this start-up, I used their app in the early days and their path since then is incredible. Nice turn over guys, the product looks amazing! I wish you all the best.
Awesome guys. I've tried an old prototype last year and i was already really impressed. Actually using Alexa (convenient) but the sounds quality is not their focus. Can't wait to try the new version of Whyd. Well done team 🔥👊🏻
