Automatically create step-by-step tutorials simply by recording your screen. Our extension figures out what you're doing, takes screenshots and turns it all into a simple step-by-step guide. Export as PDF/DOC, or embed them into a knowledge base.
This app is buggy as hell. It doesn't save zooms and custom positions. I can't export to HTML or PDF and DOC export is also not to recommend. Link sharing also does not work properly, because it doesn't save zoom positions and then shows nothing in the images!
I looked at the console logs and it clearly shows how this app is not maintained.
I recently discovered this app and decided to give it a try. It looks incredibly promising and has the potential to save me a significant amount of time. As someone who sometimes finds it easier to create a web app than to write user documentation, I’m excited about its capabilities.
It's an excellent tool, especially when integrated with the Helpjuice knowledge base. It would be great to see a desktop version that records other applications and pop-up windows in browsers that are not always captured.
Hey All 👋!
I'm Emil – Founder of Helpjuice.com & Wizardshot.com. We started building Wizardshot back in January after a customer of ours tried Scribehow and was frustrated by the lack of knowledge base integration (and pricing).
Wizardshot is a 100% free chrome extension that builds step-by-step tutorials simply by you sharing your screen. You can blur info, control the visibility (public vs. internal) of tutorials, and even embed your tutorials into a knowledge base (via Helpjuice).
Would love to hear your feedback on the tool!
@shivam_tiwari24 Thanks. We tried the other tools available - not one was truly free, so we built this. We spent the last 3 months building it and are happy to finally put it in the hands of great users, like yourself.

💡 Bright idea
WizardShot changed my life! Today I planned 3 hours for creating tutorials but with WizardShot it has taken me 15 minutes!!! I saved 2 hours 45 minutes TODAY!!! Can you imagine in a year? Easy to use, easy to embed into helpjuice, very productive and time saving application!
I'm curious to try and measure how much time it will save me. It has the potential to be a great tool for employee onboarding. I haven't checked it much yet, but except for the pdf or doc, is it possible to save the video?
Building how to videos quickly is essential for internal and external communication these days. I particularly like the face that you can blur the information right in the tool.
Congrats on the launch!
@bethany_cutmore_scott we don’t support videos for the moment, only step-by-step tutorial with screenshots is what we generate. We will be adding video soon.

Emil personally took the time to walk me through Helpjuice, explained how it could help my business and even brainstormed some wild ideas I had - how Helpjuice was built to fit the user's needs (suprisingly, even the ones with wild ideas).
For transparency: I only watched the videos for Wizardshot and it looks amazing. I know that most videos oversell and underdeliver but, knowing how passionate Emil is about his products, I have no doubt Wizardshot will deliver! (::signed up and excited to use::) Thank you, @emil_hajric
Hey @emil_hajric interesting application here for companies hoping to design tutorials. I see it is free for now, do you intend to charge for the service?
@vincentm no we do not intend to charge Martin we make our money go in a small portion of the users decide to build a knowledge base with Helpjuice. Helpjuice is the knowledge base that powers, Amazon and thousands of other companies.
