I’m Larsen and I usually build backend systems, but Write It Down started as something small and personal.

In 2020, I made a simple Google Sheet to track my expenses. No AI, no funding, just a way to understand where my money was going.

I shared it once on Reddit and forgot about it. When I checked back, it had 130k+ views.

Fast forward to this week, it hit #1 on Hacker News and today more than 2,000 people use it to manage their finances.

It’s intentionally boring and that’s why it works.

People don’t always need fancy tools, they need something that actually helps.
