Would you let an AI agent edit your company's knowledge base?

AI agents are getting pretty good at finding information, summarizing documents, and answering questions. But what about letting them change the information itself?

Imagine an AI agent finds outdated onboarding instructions in your company's wiki. Should it be allowed to fix them immediately? Suggest an edit for someone to review? Or simply flag the problem and leave everything to a human?

We've been thinking about this while developing the XWiki MCP Server.

Our approach is to respect existing user permissions and keep write operations disabled by default. Administrators can enable them when needed.

How is Google changing the way brands get discovered?

For every 1,000 Google searches, only 276 clicks reach the open web.

As AI Overviews, knowledge panels, and other search features answer more questions directly, brands have more opportunities to be discovered without users visiting their websites.

Is running hosted open-source AI models really cheaper than paying for API calls?

My monthly api bills for proprietary models are getting pretty high as a solo dev. Thinking about switching to hosted llama or mistral on cloud servers but I'm worried about server upkeep and paying for idle GPU time. Not sure if the monthly server bill actually ends up saving anything. For anyone running self-hosted models are you actually saving money compared to normal api keys?
