I run Ingosa, a conversational ads and ResTech AI company. For years, my actual job has been helping brands reach people through technology. But at night, I'm just a guy who can't sleep without a fan. I tried every sleep app on the App Store. Most of them used synthesized audio that sounds nothing like a real fan. So I taught myself SwiftUI and built Box Fan Sleep: my first iOS app. I recorded real box fans. I made the whole audio fit in under 2MB. I priced it at $2.99, once, forever. No subscription, no ads, no account. Turns out the skills I use to market other people's products are pretty useful when you're launching your own. I'm here to share what I'm building, learn from this community, and help other makers when I can.

What's something AI is actually terrible at that nobody talks about?

I'll take the hit.

AI has no idea when someone is politely furious.

You know the email. "Hi team, just circling back on this again as I haven't heard anything. Thanks for your attention to this matter." Reads like a sweet grandma wrote it.

A human reads that and thinks "oh no, they are about to burn the building down." AI reads it and thinks "great sentiment, very positive, 98% satisfaction score."

What's the worst advice you've ever gotten about marketing your product?

I'll go first.

Someone told me: "Just be consistent. Post every day. The algorithm rewards consistency."

So I did.

For six months, I posted every single day. Sometimes at 7am. Sometimes at 10pm. Weekends included. I wrote about our product, our features, our roadmap. I followed all the "best practices" hook in the first line, three takeaways, call to action at the end.

Would you stay on a sales call if you knew you were being recorded without consent?

I was on a call with a founder and they asked me to turn on my camera on Google Meet.

I said no citing that they have brought in the call recorder without my consent. I consent for voice recording and summarizing, not video capture.
