iOS developer. Maker of Second Brain.

About

I build apps for iPhone and iPad. I'm the developer of Second Brain: Voice to Action. I'm interested in turning thoughts into useful actions without making people move their whole workflow. Second Brain works with Apple Reminders, Calendar and Markdown, with results you can inspect. Local tools are free; AI organization is optional and paid. If you try it, I would like to hear what helped and where you got stuck.

Remembered the dinner, forgot the flowers? An iPhone capture experiment

I'm Daniel, the developer of Second Brain for iPhone and iPad.

Dinner Friday at 7. Buy flowers Friday at 4. Saving that as one note leaves two things to sort out later. With optional paid AI, Second Brain is designed to separate those intentions into an Apple Calendar event and an Apple Reminder, with a receipt to inspect each result.

I'm looking for the first 10 people willing to try one small, non-sensitive capture they actually need this week.

The download and local capture, notes, reminders, events and search are free. You can test those tools for free. If you already have AI access, you can also try organizing a mixed capture. Please don't buy a subscription just to give feedback. The dinner example illustrates the intended workflow, not a recorded test.

Try Second Brain with one small thought: a first-capture checklist

I'm Daniel, the developer of Second Brain. If you have opened the app and wondered what to try first, start with one small, non-sensitive thought rather than importing your whole life.

Three examples, with the result to check:

1. "Remind me to buy pasta tomorrow at 6 pm."

An action belongs in Apple Reminders. Check the title, date and time.

A deadline is not a task. Where do you put each on your iPhone?

'The proposal is due Friday. Remind me to draft it Thursday at 10.'

I see two different things here: a deadline to keep visible and an action to do earlier. I prefer the deadline in Calendar and the action in Apple Reminders. But keeping both in Reminders also has a reasonable argument: one place to look.

I'm Daniel, the maker of Second Brain. This choice shaped the app: it works with Apple Reminders, Calendar and Markdown, with a receipt to inspect each result and confirmation for pending events.

How do you handle this today? Calendar + Reminders, everything in one task app, or something else? What breaks when a plan changes?
