Feature advise please
Hi all,
We re very close to launch, but we still have capacity to fully complete one planned feature before release. We want to prioritise what actually delivers the most value on day one.
Which one would you choose and why?
Automatic accountant reports: Scheduled weekly or monthly reports sent directly to the accountant, including invoice details, VAT breakdowns, totals, and outstanding amounts no manual exports, no chasing.
-
Quoting add-on: Create professional quotes on-site, convert accepted quotes into invoices with one tap, and manage the full quote job invoice flow.
If you ve built, used, or sold invoicing software before, I d especially value your perspective. What would make the biggest difference at launch and what could realistically wait?
Thanks in advance honest opinions welcome
2 weeks before the product launch. What am I doing in terms of preparation?
Not really much, and it annoys me a bit. In exactly 14 days (28. 1.) we will launch the product, and the only thing I do is talk about it.
But yes, there are points that I still want to master by then, e.g.:
Create an informational newsletter inviting people to follow our product page
Create a list of people who could support us and ask them for help
Announcements on social networks
Inform Kickstarter backers who supported us with updates this is also an audience
Publishing a Product Hunt badge on the landing page
Continually grow and maintain a personal brand which should be a long-term goal, not just for launch purposes.
π Any solo developers here? Would love to hear how youβre building
I built 80% of an invoicing app myself β then had to rebuild it properly
Hi everyone
I m Bela, founder of Invoice Guru. I didn t come from a tech background I started this as a tradesperson who was fed up with doing invoices late at night after physical workdays.
I taught myself everything from scratch and ended up building around 80% of the product on my own, before eventually handing it over to professional developers to help finish and harden it. At that point, I learned a tough but valuable lesson: big parts of it needed to be rewritten properly to scale.
All in, there s already 1,300+ hours of professional development in Invoice Guru and it still feels like the beginning. There s a long list of features planned, but I m very conscious about not overbuilding and focusing on what really matters first.
