Building lots of products in Korea.

About

I'm Geunhyeong. I build products out of Korea and bring them to Product Hunt one at a time. PikFind is the first. I don't stay in one category. What the projects share is the shape of the problem: some job people still do by hand, every time, badly — and taking the hand work out of it. Events, photography, small everyday tools. PikFind came from the boring end of event photography. You shoot a festival, upload 5,000 photos, send the organizer a link, and almost nobody finds themselves in them. It flips who does the finding: guests open one link, take a selfie, and get only their own photos. More launches are coming. I ship early and say where things stand — PikFind is live with no paying customers yet, and I'd rather hear what breaks than pretend otherwise.

From 21,688 event photos to "just send me mine": what running a global symposium taught us

We build PikFind: guests take one selfie and get only the event photos they're in no app, no account.

Last week we ran our biggest event so far, a global pharma symposium (the client asked to stay anonymous): 21,688 photos, 439 attendees searched, 96% of selfie searches found the person, and 26,373 photos were downloaded.

Three things we learned:

  1. International attendees are the real audience. 98% of visits used the English page a shared-folder link is useless to someone who has already flown home.

  2. Real cameras produce weird files. A hidden null byte in the EXIF copyright field and 44-megapixel originals both broke our pipeline mid-event. We fixed them within hours, and now uploads retry and re-send on their own.

  3. Organizers ask about privacy as much as speed. Search selfies are deleted right after processing, and attendees' removal requests (15 photos) were handled inside the event.

Our first big real-world test: 21,688 photos at a global pharma symposium

Hi Product Hunt

Last week PikFind ran its biggest event so far a global symposium hosted by a Korean pharmaceutical company, with speakers and guests from abroad. The client asked us not to name them, so here are just the numbers, straight from our operating records:

  • 21,688 event photos uploaded over three days

  • 439 attendees searched with one selfie

  • 96% of selfie searches returned photos of the person (54 per search on average)

  • 26,373 photos downloaded by attendees

  • 98% of attendee visits used the English interface

  • Half of all searches answered within 1.6 seconds

What broke, and what we fixed
