Our first big real-world test: 21,688 photos at a global pharma symposium

Hi Product Hunt

Last week PikFind ran its biggest event so far a global symposium hosted by a Korean pharmaceutical company, with speakers and guests from abroad. The client asked us not to name them, so here are just the numbers, straight from our operating records:

  • 21,688 event photos uploaded over three days

  • 439 attendees searched with one selfie

  • 96% of selfie searches returned photos of the person (54 per search on average)

  • 26,373 photos downloaded by attendees

  • 98% of attendee visits used the English interface

  • Half of all searches answered within 1.6 seconds

Bib number search is live — plus team uploads and a referral dashboard

Short update for anyone following PikFind.

The most-requested feature since launch is live: bib number search. Marathons, cycling races, and trail runs find photos by the number on the chest instead of a selfie. It's a per-event switch guests type their number and get only their photos. Partially visible numbers still match, fully hidden ones fall back to face search, and anyone can browse by time and folder without searching at all.

Four days after launch: 5 languages, referral credits, and harder privacy

Short update for anyone following PikFind.

Launch week is over, so here's what actually got shipped instead of a victory lap.

Guest UI is now in Korean, English, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. It follows the browser language on the first visit, and if a guest switches manually it sticks across every page.

Referral credits for photographers: invite one and you both get 2,000 photo credits they get theirs after starting as a photographer, you get yours once they upload their first photo, up to 10 invites. Event photographers already work in teams, so this just follows how the work actually moves.

PikFind - One selfie finds every photo you're in

Event organizers and photographers upload once. Guests open one link, take a selfie, and get only the photos they're actually in — no scrolling through thousands. Organizers can put sponsor banners on the gallery and hand sponsors a real exposure report.
