Did the idea of growth hacks make us lazier as builders?

I used to waste way too much time looking for clever distribution tricks or viral loops, hoping I could skip the slow grind. But whenever I see a success story broken down the hack usually turns out to be pretty hands-on work personally onboarding users replying to feedback and actually writing good content.

Sometimes calling basic consistent marketing a growth hack makes it sound like there's some secret shortcut to traction.

curious if anyone here has seen a tactic actually work long-term that wasn't just good old-fashioned work in disguise?

What are the 3 pricing mistakes that cost you real customers?

Ours was simple. We priced for the Fortune 500 budget. Leads were coming in, interest was real, but deals kept dying. Took us months to understand why.

CFOs treat new marketing experiments like a rounding error on their total spend. If your price tag is bigger than what they mentally allow for "let's try this," the deal dies in finance, not in the sales call.

We launched a second brand at credit card swipe pricing instead. Same service, different lane.

What was your pricing mistake?

When fancy features get in the way of basic tasks?????

Ran into a weird UI issue while trying to export a simple report today.

The software recently got a huge visual revamp. Everything looks futuristic with smooth hover effects and floating toolbars.

The issue ? They moved the export button into an overflow menu behind a generic icon.
