To hard paywall or not — that is the question!

According to @RevenueCat 's State of Subscription Apps 2026 report, "hard paywalls convert 5x better than freemium, but with significantly wider variance."

Day 35 download-to-paid, freemium vs. hard paywall

Does access method impact download-to-paid conversion within 35 days?

I'm Stephan, the creator of DopaLoop!
About me:
I'm 48 years, living in northern Germany pretty close to the Baltic Sea, married and have two boys.
I was diagnosed with ADHD last year. Before the diagnosis, I always felt being out-of-phase with this universe without really knowing why. Why did it just seem to "work" for my friends and family and why was everything "normal" so hard for me?
Why couldn't I just be "normal", just "will" through the boring things and be done with it? Why did my teacher always tell me "You could be sooo good with your grades, if you'd just do it!"?
Work was always easy, solving problems with software was natural to me. Being there for my directs when I was a manager felt natural to me. Solving PowerPoint riddles and doing bullshit-meetings never did though (even though they should have). The struggle became more intense as I grew older, but seeing my sons with similar problems at school and with their friends, something clicked.
Now I could use my skills to solve a problem with software. All for myself, and for my sons.
This app is the product of months of research and trial and error, back and forth.
It's all in one package, batteries included. Everything runs on your phone, even AI analytics using the modern Apple CPUs for on-board processing with CoreML and Foundation Framework. Speech transcription is done using Whisper on CoreML. Nothing is ever uploaded and there's no accounts backend or anything tying you to some ecosystem other than what you already have: Your phone.
I'm here and available for all questions you might have!

DopaLoop: ADHD Habit Tracker - Habit tracking built for brains that work differently

I built Soothing Noise and use it every day, almost all-day. AMA

Hey y'all,

I'm Stevie and I built Soothing Noise to have an underlying noise to my playlist while coding. I'm a neurodiverse developer and only got my diagnosis this year, with 47 years. Now after having a better understanding of what's going on in my head I can support my habit-building with a soundscape that I discovered was helping me focus better.
I hope you find it useful and Soothing Noise helps you, too!
Kind regards,
Stevie
