How do you decide when a cheaper AI model is good enough?
... normal week, and compare retries, edits and complaints. Keep paying when the gap is large. The part I haven t solved is the close zone. Benchmarks aren t your workload, and a week of traffic doesn t always
settle
it. How do you decide? Proper evals, gut feel, or ship it and watch the complaints? Comment from George Basov(@gbasovv): For the close zone I stopped comparing models on the feature and started comparing them on one concrete failure ... ... that checks what the singer actually sang against the planned lyrics runs on Pro, because Flash was tried there and missed a merged chorus that Pro and an independent transcription both heard. One known miss on the exact job

Open source alternative to Git for AI coding agents
... agents had stopped being the slow part. Every change waited for a pull request and a CI run, rebased on a main that had moved, and two agents on the same file ended in a conflict someone had to
settle
by hand. So we built AVP (Agent Versionning Protocol), and it's open source. An agent opens a task, writes, and lands it. Every landing is proven on the exact head of main in seconds; if the line moved ... ... reach out ot you :) Comment from Neeraj Nathany(@neerajnathany): CI runs dropping from 104 a day to 4 is a big jump. when two agents touch the same file, does the replay ever still need a person to

When is the right time to launch on Product Hunt?
... goes. Comment from Abusaid islam said(@abusaid_islam_said): @busmark_w_nika Haha, absolutely! Coffee is definitely a must-have for launch day And to answer your question yes, 100%. Doing a quick "
competitor
research" on Product Hunt is one of the first things I do. But I don't check to get discouraged by competition; I check to learn: The Positioning: How did they present the solution? What resonated with the PH community? The Feedback Loop: Reading ... ... would be: A stable core product A clear landing page and positioning Real users who have used the product before launch Basic analytics to measure what happens after launch A strong reason for people to choose this product over
alternatives
