Listen, it’s cheesy but do we lie? Brainstorming is the best when you come out of it with three things: a bunch of great ideas, an understanding of your next steps, and an actually fun time.
But it’s not that easy. In fact, brainstorming can create feelings of dread and anxiety whether you’re staring at a blank page solo or need to lead a team in a collaborative sesh. So we did what we do and pulled together 8 of the latest popular brainstorming products for when it be like that sometimes.
Mimosa offers an alternative to the standard whiteboard flow. Participants first add their ideas anonymously (and can use AI suggestions), then ideas can be categorized, merged, and voted on.
Notion AI & Lex describe themselves more as thought partners than AI writing tools. We’ve written in-depth about both before (here and here) and how they can serve up new ideas when you get stuck on your document. Obviously, ChatGPT is an option too, but you prob knew that.
Visme and Canva have launched new Whiteboard products this year. Visme offers collaborative ways to create flows, wireframes, sketches, and more with templates on hand to start you off. Canva’s whiteboard gives you access to its extensive content library including shapes and graphics.
Kinopio and and Org Pad let you try out spatial thinking. You can visually connect your thoughts together including words, images, video, and audio.
