ATT Twitter users: Have you started calling it ‘X’? According to a recent poll, 79% of X users in the US say they are aware of the change, but 69% of them still refer to the platform as Twitter and to posts as “tweets.” What about you?
Animators, rejoice
If you’ve spoken to anyone with even a slight interest in digital art over the past few years, you’ve probably heard of Procreate. It’s become an industry standard for its approachable method of crafting high-quality designs and one-off payments, in contrast to most others on the market.
Since its inception, Procreate has been marketed for static digital art, and it’s probably safe to say it cemented its position there. Now, the team is expanding into animation with Procreate Dreams.
Dreams is designed to make animation accessible to any skill level while being just enough of a powerhouse to entice seasoned professionals. The team insists they want to “lower the barrier of entry for a whole new generation of animators”.
It works with both touch controls and the Apple Pencil, similar to the original app. Where it starts to become exciting is its feature set, such as the Performing tool, which allows creators to animate on the fly without having to rely on keyframes.
So far, the announcement has gone down well (that’s an understatement) with designers and animators across the web.
Procreate Dreams will follow in the footsteps of its parent app by offering a one-time payment of $20 instead of a subscription, and it will be available in November.
