Cleaner, tidier browsing
Look through the Product Hunt leaderboard, and youâll start to feel like there are very few tech companies around that don't have at least a rudimentary AI strategy (Miro, Notion, Framer). Sure, trends come and go in tech faster than NFTs depreciate, but when you see some of the biggest household names invest and go all in on AI, it probably means something.
But how do you add AI to your product? Well, you can make a ChatGPT wrapper, a plugin, a sidebar, or if you're like the Browser Company, you can ship an entire suite of AI features designed to consciously elevate your product experience.
Arc Max is the latest launch from the quirky web browser makers. It's a collection of five different AI features, powered by a mix of GPT-3.5 and Anthropic, that come together to make your experience of using Arc a bit better in a bunch of small, but meaningful ways.
Hereâs the lowdown:
Ask on page: Hold down CMD + F on any page to ask a question, and an AI assistant will give you an answer in seconds.
5-second previews: Wondering what a link might contain? Hover over it, and Arcâs AI will automatically display a quick preview of whatâs behind it.
Ask ChatGPT: This one is self-explanatory âpull up ChatGPT right from the Arc Command Line.
Tidy Tab Tiles: Once you pin a tab, Arc will now automatically rename the tab with a shorter name, so you can more easily figure out whatâs going on when you have tab overload.
Tidy Downloads: Similar to Tidy Tab Tiles, Arcâs AI will now automatically rename downloads from things like âscreenshot1102.pngâ to something actually descriptive, so no more fumbling around trying to find that one vaguely named file.
Your agents stopped answering and started doing
Your agents call tools, write to databases and move money, so a wrong answer is now a wrong action, which is a considerably worse meeting. Arcjet runs policy before every LLM call, tool call, query and API request: prompt injection, sensitive data, bots, rate limits, spend quotas, and your own rules in Rego on top. It reads the OpenTelemetry you already emit, so switching it on is one environment variable, no code changes and nothing to deploy. Each check also reads the earlier steps in the same workflow, so an agent's tenth action gets judged against the first nine and not on its own.
