Maker Abdallah AbuHashem said that’s literally what he had to do when he moved. He grew up in Syria and “when you come from a distressed country, banks label you as a high-risk client, and in most cases, refuse to provide banking services,” AbuHashem explained.

Without banking, hundreds of millions of people in a similar situation don’t have a safe place to put their money on top of losing out to inflation.

So AbuHashem, and his fellow Rhodes scholar cofounder Amer Baroudi, who also fled war in Syria, started nsave.

nsave makes banking accessible to people who live in unstable economies, like those in Egypt, Argentina, and Lebanon. The fintech startup provides its customers a multi-currency (USD, EUR, and GBP), Switzerland-based account to protect their savings, a physical or virtual Mastercard, and a Zelle-style feature to send and receive money.
