Raycast is the launcher a lot of Mac people have bound to their command key, and 2.0 is the first time it has been taken apart and rebuilt, with an indexing engine that finds files and folders itself instead of leaning on Spotlight, which is the one piece of software on a Mac nobody has ever said a kind word about. Shortcuts got properly fussy too: fn on its own, left and right modifiers bound separately. The AI does things now rather than answering things, so the little box you open forty times a day has quietly become the place you hand work to, and it has been out of beta since August.

Cline is the coding agent that lives inside your editor, and today it got an app of its own. Several agents running side by side, recurring work put on a schedule, and you can pull a half-finished task out of Claude Code or Codex and carry on with it here. Mac today, Windows in beta. The subtitle on the launch is an open-source app for open-weight models, and Cline began at an Anthropic hackathon in 2024 under the name Claude Dev.

Cognition has given Devin a phone number. You talk through the job the way you would to a builder standing in your kitchen, and it plans it, writes it and ships it, with GPT-Live handling the conversation and their own SWE-2 model doing the engineering. SWE-2 came out the same morning. Two years ago Devin turned up with a benchmark score, 13.9% of real GitHub issues closed end to end against GPT-4 on 1.7%, and everyone spent a fortnight shouting about it. Now they are selling not having to type.
