It's a novelty and not one that accomplishes anything worthwhile. I hate to sound harsh but I see absolutely no upside to this. Already seeing it abused /gamed on news submission aggregators to get around restrictions and make posts stand out when they are not supposed to, which hurts the user experience.

Reminds me of the worst parts of the older internet... MySpace, etc.

Aesthetically unpleasing, accessibility issues, a way for user input to override site and client restrictions, illegible at small sizes
