@mignano you have done a great job on Anchor. I really like the app. Even when I didn't have the app I asked a friend with an iPhone to download the app, just so that I could experience it. And it was terrific. Fortunately or Unfortunately we have been working on something similar and finally gone into production only recently. But in all honesty, we have a lot of catching up to do with you guys, because what you have is something really exciting. I just hope it comes on Android soon. We are constantly learning and improving just looking at your product and we feel that such products can really bring back the days of community radio and give back the power to people to create even more.
@akshat_ratanpal Hi Akshat! Thank you very much for the kind words about Anchor. I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it.
I'm excited to check out Radiyoapp. I believe that in order for social audio to really breakthrough into the mainstream, it's going to take many different apps from different people with different perspectives and ideas, so the more audio apps, the better.
Thanks again and best of luck with Radiyoapp! I'll be checking it out soon for sure.
Absolutely love this idea, very well executed as well! It would be cool to see websites like Product Hunt add voice commenting as well. Keep up the great work!
Cool idea. I'm excited to get into it. One thing I noticed though, is that you have us log in with Twitter and then make us follow your account without notice that that has occurred. That has already tarnished your brand with me. Now I'm looking for the next sneaky move you're going to pull over on me.
@spencemcc Sorry you feel that way, Spencer. There is an on/off switch for unfollowing us in the onboarding step where you connect account. But if people aren't noticing it, then it's our responsibility to make it bigger/more visible in the next release. Thanks for your feedback, and we hope to hear you on Anchor.

@mignano@spencemcc I think you could ask for the follow in the same way that you ask for other things like microphone permissions. You have a great way for that and I don't think you'll lose much on that.

@migano I'm so excited for this! I was stoked when ZCast hit the front page and finally made podcasting something anyone could do. When I saw it I quickly thought of this quote from Ben Rubin's medium post on communication mediums: "When the cost of distribution approaches zero, a medium evolves to its peak for self expression and it has the potential to own all sub-use-cases." But I was quickly disappointed by the lack of interaction that existed in the app (Since it was impossible to talk to other people, you could go on a 2 minute rant, and then just hear crickets afterwards, weird experience), the bad UI, the bad audio quality that made it sound like you were speaking into a walkie-talkie. I'm convinced podcasting will someday be a major medium for self-expression, and I think this app is doing everything right that ZCast did wrong, although they're a bit different. Interaction is there, UI is great, audio quality is superb considering I didn't have to invest in a $70+ microphone & other equipment, etc. I could go on all day. Quick question though, do you ever plan to let people go on for longer periods of time or is the 2-minute cut off your version of something like Twitter's 140 characters?
Thanks!
@jactorrez@migano Hi Javier, glad you're enjoying Anchor! We're experimenting with 2 minutes now as a way to keep waves concise. That said, it is very much an experiment, and we're absolutely open to changing it as the product evolves and our users demand something different.
@mignano I remember when you told me about the idea. Congrats to the whole team. I really enjoyed hearing Scott B. on the go, felt like super spontaneous. And the on-boarding is brilliant! Pumped to see where you take it! :)
@milesfitzgerald Thanks, Miles! I appreciate that feedback, especially coming from a brilliant designer like you. You've done an amazing job with Roger, and we're proud to now be a part of this awesome new audio space, alongside great apps like yours.
