Still think the mouse could be much better. But damn, I want that keyboard!

Looks-wise, there's a lot to like. However, I tried out all the peripherals today and have this to say: The mouse feels good, though virtually identical to the last one aside from a longer body, so if you didn't like that, you won't like this. The trackpad feels less good or at best on-par than the last generation...Being able to click everywhere is cool and the larger tracking surface is nice, but fake-clicking instead of actual clicking is a slight turn-off on a device whose main purpose is, well, clicking. They keyboard is most definitely a step backwards from the last one. In addition to the lack of backlit keys, a trait it shares with the previous gen, the key travel is noticeably decreased, making it much less satisfying to tap on than the keyboard on your MacBook, or even the last keyboard. It's not *bad*, it's just not as good... The large F keys are weird, considering they're not like that on literally any other Apple product. And finally, a dedicated Eject button? When most (all?) of your product line doesn't have CD/DVD ports anymore? WTH? Not sure where Apple is going with this. The design language overall is nice, getting rid of the AA batteries and weird cylinders in favor of a simpler, more unified feel, but so many other choices here are questionable...Including the price hike and reliance on Lightning (a technology I *thought* Apple might ditch considering the inclusion of USB-C on the new MB over Lightning).
