Assembly 2.0 - Build modern client portals for service businesses
by•
Your clients shouldn't need five logins to work with you. Assembly gives them one polished portal for everything—messages, payments, files, tasks, and more. Assembly 2.0 adds a new client home page editor with variants, folders that let you organize apps on your sidebar, recurring automations, a desktop app with real notifications, and more. Less admin, more time for actual client work. Built for creative and professional service firms.

Huge congrats to the team on the launch 🚀
I know how much work went into this behind the scenes. Amazing to see it all come together.

This is a really cool idea, I recently decided to dig deeper into my website hosting and maintenance business offerings and this could be a nice addition to the offerings for clients!

@thatryan love to hear it!

Congrats on 2.0! The client-visible tasks feature is really useful.
Do clients actually engage with the portal regularly, or does it take training to get them to use it vs email?

@tudor_moldovanu thanks!
I think the nicest part of Assembly is genuinely there isn’t much “training” to do. You can message clients and they can reply by email and it will still show up in the portal; sending invoices, payment links, etc are all secure magic links that they can click and then see immediately (and you don’t even have to have them set up the account ahead of time, as long as you have them in the Assembly CRM). It’s pretty seamless! You can try this out at some of our sample demo portals: https://portal.brandmages.com/login?step=signUp&demoportal=true
Nice portal.
But experience > interface.
Clients stay for results, not dashboards.

I'm so excited to see this go live! We're really looking forward to people getting their hands on the new features we've been thinking about for so long

@ellie_spigelman1 app library FTW
Strong category to build in. Client portals are one of those things that sound boring until you’ve dealt with a bad one.
Congrats on the launch @Assembly
Client portals that actually match your brand instead of looking like generic SaaS — that alone solves a trust problem. How customizable is the portal? Can you fully white-label it or is there Assembly branding visible?
In our service company, we started building a similar project back in 2017, but we abandoned it after a month because we realized it required a huge amount of effort. Congratulations on the launch—great that someone finally made it happen!
