Is email marketing SaaS about to die?

by

We just launched AutoEmails on Product Hunt — and I’m going to say the quiet part out loud:

The Mailchimp / Klaviyo model is fundamentally broken.

  • You pay a “contact tax” just to store people

  • You fight clunky dashboards built 10+ years ago

  • You manually stitch together campaigns, segments, flows

  • And somehow… this is still called “marketing automation”?

Meanwhile, AI just changed everything.

We rebuilt email marketing from scratch as AI-first, not “AI added on top”:

→ No lists. No segments. No flows to configure
→ You just tell the system your goal: “get more demos”
→ AI finds leads, writes emails, adapts messaging, and runs campaigns autonomously

And the controversial part:

Charging per contact makes zero sense in an AI world.

Why should you pay more because your business grows?
Why should inactive contacts cost you money?
Why should storage = pricing?

We think the entire pricing model (and product model) of this industry is about to collapse.

So here’s the real question:

👉 Are platforms like Mailchimp/Klaviyo still relevant in 3–5 years…
or are they the next legacy SaaS waiting to be replaced?

Curious to hear honest takes — especially from people deep in email marketing 👇
