Bitrise Build Hub - GitHub Actions runners that build 2x faster for your agents

by•
Coding agents push more code, so your CI runs more builds than ever. GitHub's runners are slow, so every extra build sits in the queue and your team waits with it. Bitrise Build Hub runs those builds on the newest Apple Silicon and high-core Linux instead: 54% faster on iOS, 31% on Android. PRs come back in minutes, and your app ships sooner. You keep GitHub Actions. Changing one line in your workflow is all it takes to run on the best runners made for mobile.

Wow, this is our second Product Hunt launch this month! We are soooooo happy to be back with our fast & reliable runners for GitHub Actions. Have you heard that GitHub Actions being slow?

Put ✚ if you've seen it 😀
Put ✚✚ if you want to try fast, mobile-ready runners from Bitrise

Another week, another great launch from the team! 🚀 👏🏻
One key question. How does Build Hub differ from any other GitHub runner alternative?

thank you! and great question, most GitHub runner alternatives are general-purpose CI. We are a Mobile DevOps Platform, and that shows up in a few ways:

Built for mobile

  • The strongest macOS we can get: we picked the M4 Pro Mac mini, so you get up to 14 cores and 54GB RAM, and we're first to each new generation (M5 Pro and M6 are in progress).

  • Granular Linux from 2 up to 192 vCPU, and we've clocked it around 20% faster than comparable GCP instances.

  • Xcode betas and GA within 24 hours of Apple, on stacks that come preinstalled with the mobile toolchain, native and cross-platform:

More than runners

  • Build Cache for Gradle, Bazel, Xcode and React Native, up to 90% faster builds.

  • Release Management to submit to the App Store and Google Play with phased rollouts.

  • Deeper observability is on the way, built on our Insights product.

Reliability we own end to end

  • We run our own data centres, machines, cache servers and networking, so the experience isn't at the mercy of a general cloud.

  • That includes our own macOS virtualization layer on top of Apple's framework, already running millions of customer builds a month. The core isn't dependent on open-source projects.

Pricing

  • Entry at $13.50/month, below most alternatives, with lower macOS per-minute rates.

  • We support GitHub user accounts, not just orgs, which many competitors don't.

Hola Hunters, I'm Daniel helping out the communication around Build Hub.

When I came across the tagline “Bitrise - Ship Happens” on a cap, it made me think about why shipping actually matters.

There’s an old expression: “when my ship comes in.” - Your ship coming in could literally mean your investment coming in. ( In 522 Magellan’s expedition returned with 381 sacks of cloves, and that surviving cargo was worth more than the five ships originally sent on the voyage. )

For centuries, the ability to ship was directly connected to opportunity, wealth and growth. Crazy, right?

One of the clearest examples is the Dutch.

In the 1600s, a relatively small country became one of the most influential trading powers in the world not simply because it had ships, but because it became exceptionally good at building the infrastructure around shipping.

Better ships.

Better ports.

Better shipyards.

Better warehouses.

Better navigation.

Better financing.

Better systems for coordinating everything around the movement of value.

And as that network grew, more abstract infrastructure had to grow around it.

Banks.

Insurance.

Contracts.

Stock markets.

Standards.

Protocols.

We are still shipping spices, steel, machines and containers across oceans.

But now we also ship code, builds, data, transactions and information.

Shipping never stopped being one of the most important forces in civilization.

It just became more abstract.

And the more abstract the thing you are moving becomes, the more important the infrastructure underneath it becomes.

That is what Build Hub means to me.

And if better infrastructure lets you build faster, it lets everything sitting on top of that infrastructure move faster too.

The Dutch built better infrastructure for moving physical value connecting the world.

Today, we are doing the same thing for digital value.

Different layer. Same principle. Same importance.

Shipping is evolution.

Shipping means evolution, and if you can ship faster, you evolve faster.

And if you can evolve faster, why wouldn't you try it for 14 days free?

Bitrise Build Hub - Ship happens.

Daniel, this was so poetic 😅

Hi team! Congrats on today’s launch! 🎉 It’s great to see Bitrise Build Hub featured on Product Hunt! 🥳

One question, though: what’s the main difference between the OG product, Bitrise CI and Build Hub? 🤔

thanks Mirtill for your support 💜

thank you so much. We're happy to be here :)

They're built on the same infrastructure, the difference is how much you want to change(or can change!).

Build Hub is the low-effort option: you stay on GitHub Actions and just point your jobs at our faster more reliable machines, nothing to migrate.

Bitrise CI is the full platform, better if you want the whole toolkit, the graphical workflow editor, , the build log viewer and the rest.

So: Build Hub to speed up the CI you already have, Bitrise CI if you want to run your CI on Bitrise end to end.

Hello there, this all sounds great. I'm curious, what happens at peak times? Can I expect builds to queue?

Super question !

We have separate concurrency limits for both Linux and macOS platforms.

We are offering eight Tiers on the self-serve pricing side. Each with increasing concurrency limits to ensure, that you find the perfect setup for your needs:
If you are unsure, then subscribe to the smaller Tier, as you can switch to a higher Tier any time.

On the Enterprise segment we offer custom concurrency limits tailored to your needs.

Congrats with launch 👏

Is Build Hub only for mobile CI/CD?

Thanks! 👏 Not only mobile, no. You can build anything on Build Hub that you'd build on GitHub Actions, except Windows. Mobile is where our tooling really shines, but it's not limited to it, we build Bitrise on Bitrise. And our Linux runners support GitHub Actions' container and services features, so you can switch build environments and interact with services running as separate containers, exactly as you do now.

Bitrise Build Hub = Faster Linux & macOS Github Actions

Hey team, congrats on this launch, love the pixel art! Can you tell me how Build Hub is actually different from GitHub's own macOS runners?

thanks so much, can't beat cute pixel art.

GitHub's hosted macOS runners are shared and top out at M2 Pro (5 vCPU, 14GB) even for Enterprise, their standard offering is still an M1.

Build Hub gives you dedicated Apple silicon, up to M4 Pro at 14 vCPU and 54GB, from pre-warmed VM pools, so a build starts the moment you push.

You also get the mobile toolchain pre-installed and 100GB KV cache free, where GitHub gives you 10GB per repo.

On XcodeBenchmark, we're twice as fast. And that's before you bundle on our co-located Build Cache product which can cut build times by up to 90%. Check out the to read through all of the details.

Congrats on the launch!! Great move to leverage apple silicon and on-device inference. Looking forward to seeing how this develops in 2027 onwards.

, thanks for your support! I would expect even more pressure from an AI-generated build goingf orward

Thanks, . We have some amazing plans on our table for sure. Still in 2026 we are going to increase observability, continue our efforts to further speed up builds. At some point we will start supporting the other vendors as well, not only GitHub. We are looking forward an interesting year for sure. :)

Nice! So if my Github jobs appear to be slow, how can Bitrise actually help with that? I thought it was a core issue with Github Actions

 thanks for checking our product!

So Build Hub offers top tier machines with higher CPU and memory than the available GitHub Runners. These bigger machines make builds faster without any extra steps required. If you need even more speed, you can opt in to use Bitrise build caching that can cut build times by up to 90%.

Bitrise built the Formula 1 car for software engineers deliver better quality products faster. The whole stack is built in this in mind. Which include latest hardware from Apple and servers, build and key value caches integrated in the same switch fabric where the builds run for low latency, high speed and zero cost use. Bitrise was built to give users the ability to go down to single minute build times so that they can iterate fast. Especially in the AI era when code is generated very fast, the tooling to build and test needs to keep up with this speed.

Congrats to all the makers! Is this iOS and Android only, or does it happen to cover Flutter, React Native and the rest too?

Thanks for the question!

We have 10+ years of experience in creating the stacks. We install all needed tools for your typical CI/CD need, let it be native or cross-platform development(Flutter, React Native). Check out the exact stack reports here:

Of course we have Android SDKs and Xcode versions, along with simulators and emulators preinstalled. Not to mention tools, like Fastlane, CocoaPods and Gradle too.
