Every sales rep needs a coach. And every coach needs tools to give their reps exactly the feedback they need, precisely when they need it.
🛠 That's what we've aimed to build with Close's built-in call coaching features—and based on the initial user feedback we've received, our product team has succeeded on this mission.
💰 They say feedback is the breakfast of champions—and in sales, that's definitely true. The only way to constantly grow is by re-evaluating your performance as a sales rep on an ongoing basis. Call recording reviews are great, but sometimes real-time call coaching can be a real gamechanger.
🗣 I've always thought of Close more as a sales communication tool rather than a database of customers. We pioneered built-in calling and email-syncing in the CRM space. And now we are—as far as I know—he first CRM to release build-in barge, whisper, and listen features, in the hope that this will become more widely available for sales teams in the coming years.
I know this is only relevant for a very small group of people on ProductHunt—but I do believe for those few, it'll really help elevate their sales skills. As always, my team and I welcome any feedback 🙏
Fun tip: Have your salespeople post in Slack when they are about to make some calls so other members of the team can listen in and (1) get a better understanding of what it's like to sell your product and (2) hear direct feedback from your target market.
You'll learn a ton. I promise. :-)
Hey! I'm a member of the engineering team at Close. This was highly requested feature and we are very excited about its launch! I'm curious about your thoughts and let us know if you try it out.
Hey Product Hunters! I'm part of the Close team and was the Engineering Lead on this project 👋 It was a ton of fun building Call Coaching and it’s even more rewarding to see the overwhelmingly positive feedback coming through from early adopters 💪
In terms of the tech stack, this is built with Python, Flask, and PostgreSQL interfacing w/ Twilio. It’s also worth pointing out that, even though the feature took us only ~6-7 weeks to build, we’ve done the prep work to enable the existence of this feature over many months – conducting lots of customer interviews, rebuilding most of our call flows around Twilio Conferences, migrating 10s of thousands of phone numbers from Plivo to Twilio, bulking up our WebSocket-based real-time messaging service, etc. Big props to all the people involved!
@stefan_wojcik I'm just grateful to work with such a smart and talented team, don't even begin to grasp what's involved in making it work so simply and beautifully.
In addition to the core functionality, we also thought about how to expose this feature to an entire team. With that in mind, we also added the ability to invite someone to your call, and also show a call in progress on a Lead page.
