Crystal is a community curated database of individual police officer interactions and police department culture. It is an open-source application backed by over 5000 submitted records.
Honestly, this worries me "We can crowdsource reputation and know that someone is a likely killer, make it public and hold them accountable before they kill someone"
How? and what if you're wrong?
The idea of judging and holding someone accountable for something they haven't actually done based on "crowdsourced reputation" is a really really frightening concept.

This is awesome! So cool to see all these familiar faces working on it <3. Going to share with my community of tech volunteers.

I think it’s timely and long overdue.
The beautiful part of this whole project is the open-source bit which I’m hoping allows it to be localized from city to city, state to state, country to country, with their own individual laws & procedures.
This would thereby as some point in the future serve as a global repository for gauging both the good and bad conduct of law enforcement personnel that have been empowered to carry out the duty of ensuring the safety and peace of the public they do dear serve.

What is the vetting process like? Who ensures the database carries accurate information and who updates them?
